THE GROUND Floor

OF THE DORMITORY

A step in the flintwork of the south wall of the dormitory shows the level of the timbers of the ground floor/ceiling of the cellar which rested on it. It comes half way up the arch on the right  which is thought to be from a ground floor window over a door into the cellar. The flints between the top of the door and bottom of the window have collapsed.
