| This is a drawing of the Abbey Ruins in 1779. It shows the east side of the cloister running into the passage leading south towards the Kennet. From left to right, north to south, the five doors in the wall are into the treasury along the north side of the Chapter House, three entrances into the Chapter House, the door (blocked at the time) into the passage running along the south wall of the Chapter House, door at the foot of the stirs leading up to the sleeping quarters of the monks. | |
